Atiku Never Said He Won’t Contest Presidential Election Again- Spokesman

Segun Sowunmi, spokesman of the Atiku Campaign Organisation in the 2019 presidential election has said there is no record anywhere where Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections said the 2019 presidential elections will be the last time he will run for the number one office in the country.

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, he however said while Atiku as a committed statesman will never be tired of proffering solutions to Nigeria’s problems, the decision as to whether to contest again will be entirely his to make.

“It is not on record and I’m not aware of such comment that he (Atiku) said the 2019 elections will be his last”

“What I know for a fact is that whatever it is are the challenges that Nigeria faces, those challenges continues to constantly be in our  faces and we are all aware of it”.

“So, as a statesman and a very committed one at that, Atiku is interested in the growth and development of the country. One can never be tired of proffering solutions”.

“ In terms of whether this is going to be his last election , this are personal decision he has to make for himself. And of course, if he is going to contest in the future, it will also be within his rights as enshrined by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
