-KWARA FIRST LADY CALL ON INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS TO EXTEND PHILANTHROPIC GESTURES TO VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND THE NEEDY
The First Lady of Kwara State Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq has called on public spirited individuals, societies and organisations to extend their philanthropic gestures to vulnerable children and the needy in our society as she presents Food items and other commodities to Children reception home to commorate the end of the year activities
Her Excellency made this call when she visited the Kwara State Children reception home to present food items, toiletries and other commodities to commorate the Yelutide season.
The first lady was received at the Children home by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs and Social development Alh. Abdulganiyu Opeloyeru.
At the event Mrs. Olufolake urged the Children at the home to be obedient to their care givers and also urged the care givers too to be consious of the children’s sensitivities and ensure that they are shielded from any form of abuse at all times.
Alh. Opeloyeru in his remarks expressed the Ministry’s appreciation to the First Lady for extending her hand of love to the Centre as this is the second time Her Excellency has extended her benevolent hand to the children Reception Centre. He also gave insight to the face-lift ongoing in the centre with the commencement of works on the motorised borehole facilitated by AA Olufolake Support Group-support group of Her Excellency and the rehabilitation of the perimeter fence by the state government.
Other dignitaries at the event include the Commissioner for education Hajia Fatimah Bisola, the Executive Director Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. (Mrs) Folorusho, the Executive Secretary Kwara State Drug Control Agency Pharm. Barakat Olanrewaju and different Women Political Support groups.
The Coordinator of the Children Reception Centre, Mrs Oluwayemisi Bello, thanked Mrs Abdulrazaq for her visit and urged her to use her office to make the facility conducive for the children.
