NCDC To Launch Coronavirus Testing Centre In kwara

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq while speaking with newsmen on Monday said ” NCDC team is expected in the state in the coming days to discuss the issue of establishing a testing centre in the state, adding that there was no use in buying rapid test kits whose results would not be recognised”

This is inline with NCDC statement to step up coronavirus testing in Nigeria, The Director-General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, while speaking at the daily Presidential Task Force (PTF) briefing on last week said the move became necessary as the country is lagging behind in terms of testing.

“The laboratory strategic group that is responding to this outbreak has set itself a target of testing two million people in the next three months”

Abdulrahman while speaking to CSOs in the state on border security said “community need to take ownership, alongside the government, to see a flattening of the the COVID-19 curve in the state.

Kwara communities and individuals need to take responsibility as the country struggles to flatten the curve of transmission of the virus amid rising infection rate.

Kwara currently has 24 active cases.
