•Follow-up NEMA actions on relief materials for the victims of rainstorm in Baruten/Kaiama and Edu LGAs
The senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar earlier today visited the headquarters of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) where he met with the Director-General of the agency, AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) and the Director of Operation, Dr Onifadi, to notify the agency on the need for urgent visit and provision of relief materials to communities in Patigi Local Government Area, where farmers/herders clash resulting to lost of lives and properties occured.
In a statement released by his media team in Abuja, during the visit, Senator Sadiq called on NEMA to assess the level of damage done to lives and property in Patigi Local Government due to communal clashes in order to ensure that necessary relief materials are provided for the victims.
Speaking at the NEMA headquarters, Senator Sadiq Umar also reminded the agency of his earlier request, on the need to provide relief materials for the victims of Baruten/Kaiama and Edu rainstorms who have been homeless as a result of heavy rainstorm which occurred recently. Whilst he also assured his constituents that drastic measures were already on process to provide succor to the affected communities.
