Kwara Panel Quiz Ex-Governor Appointee Over N4.7bn Mismanaged MSME loan

The Judicial Commission on the sales of Kwara State government asset interrogated former Director-General Kwara State Bureau of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Segun Soewu on the management of N4.7bn SMEs fund under the last administration in the state.

Mr Segun Soewu a financial advisor appointed as director general, Kwara State Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development sometimes during the tenure of fmr Kwara State Govenor Abdulfatai Ahmed was charged with the disbursement of soft loans to petty traders but according to the report by the EFCC published on the Sahara reporters website alleged that fraudulent misappropriation and mismanagement of about N2billion given by the Kwara State Government to assist market men and women across the 16 local government areas of the state was distributed to highly placed politicians, traditional rulers.

The Chairman of the Commission Justice Olabanji Orilonishe (Rtd) however mandated Soewu to produce the list of all the beneficiaries, their addresses, the amount collected, the amount paid and the outstanding payment.
