Opinion – Puncturing another balloon of lies by Ibrahim Abdullateef

Days after the courtesy visit by seven first class monarchs from KW North to Governor AbdulRazaq, a section of the local media came to town with unfounded reports about the meeting. They said the traditional rulers had rapped the Governor on 2023 politics and threw weight behind KWNorthAgenda2023 to his chagrin.

It was a meeting attended by Rafiu Ajakaye, SSG, HOS, Architect Saifudeen, SA Pol, PPS, DoP (Govt House), and the Press Secretary of Information Ministry who reportedly handled the sound system.

There was no talk about politics. The only comment about 2023 was the prayers said by one of their royal highnesses while acknowledging the strides of the administration in the region and the widely acclaimed Governor’s humility and support for traditional institutions.

Neither the monarchs nor the Governor or anyone for that matter spoke about 2023. They had come for the traditional sallah homage and seized the opportunity to discuss germane issues of development especially some major roads in the region. It was His Royal Highness Etsu Patigi who spoke on their behalf. That was all.

It is the ninth wonder of the world how local media have since started selling purely fake untold stories to the public. Anything different to the story above is fallacious and cooked.

Our traditional rulers deserve respect not irreverence and should not be dragged into the murky water of politics to sell lifeless political agenda.

No amount of propaganda can undermine Governor AbdulRazaq’s acceptance across the state. The sponsors are merely backing the wrong tree and are only meant to fall flatly!
